Saudi Arabia and China: Infinite Horizons

The Saudi Chinese Business Council (SCBC) serves as a key institutional platform dedicated to enhancing and developing economic and commercial relations between the business communities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China.

It operates under the supervision of the Federation Saudi Chambers and within a regulatory framework approved by the Ministry of Commerce and supervised by the General Authority for Foreign Trade GAFT, and it represents part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to enhance organized, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnerships with China. Its activities are carried out in continuous coordination with the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the General Authority for Foreign Trade, ensuring alignment with Saudi Arabia’s international trade and investment goals.

Established in 2003, the Saudi Chinese Business Council was formed through an agreement between the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Arab-Chinese Friendship Association, creating an official bilateral trade mechanism that promotes trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. The council also maintains a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) – China’s leading national body for promoting international trade, attracting investment, and fostering economic cooperation.

Today, the SCBC comprises over 2,100 Saudi members, including leading investors, entrepreneurs, and industrial figures across key sectors of the national economy.  Through high-level forums, business delegations, and partnership programs, the Council actively facilitates dialogue, market access, and investment cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China.

By serving as a trusted bridge between the public and private sectors of both nations, the SCBC contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, advancing shared prosperity, sustainable development, and long-term strategic partnership.22
