Chinese energy official meets with Saudi Aramco executive in Beijing

China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) held talks in Beijing with senior executives from Saudi Aramco to discuss global energy security and China–Saudi oil and gas cooperation. NEA Deputy Administrator Song Hongkun expressed hope that companies from both countries would strengthen communication, deepen collaboration, and jointly manage risks. The meeting comes amid ongoing disruptions to global energy markets caused by the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil shipping route. The discussion underscores the strategic importance of China–Saudi energy ties during a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
