At the Economic Times Future Forward Middle East Summit 2025, a panel discussion titled “AI meets EQ: Shaping the future of HR leadership in the age of connection” brought together leaders from prominent organisations, including Ajlan & Bros Holding, to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with emotional intelligence (EQ) in the workplace. The panel addressed concerns highlighted in the “AI and EI: Workplace Status Report” by Six Seconds, which noted a 5.5% decline in emotional intelligence scores since 2019, attributed to increased stress, burnout, and workplace disconnection. While AI’s rapid adoption offers efficiency gains, the discussion emphasised the necessity of empathetic leadership to maintain human connection and employee engagement.
