The China-Saudi joint-investment ethylene project has achieved a significant milestone as the 44 large spherical tanks in the tank area have been successfully capped. This accomplishment marks a major progress in the main construction of the project. These 44 large spherical tanks boast a total capacity of 125,000 cubic meters and a total weight of 16,000 tons, making them the largest spherical tank group in the domestic petrochemical industry at present. With a total investment of approximately RMB 44.8 billion, the joint-investment ethylene project is a collaborative effort between Fujian Energy Petrochemical Group and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation. It is a key project of China-Saudi Arabia capacity and investment cooperation, part of the third batch of major national foreign investment projects. Moreover, it is an important practice in promoting the high-quality joint construction of China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030”.
