Jinggong Steel International has recently signed a contract for the steel structure project of King Fahd Stadium. Aiming to meet the requirements for the 2027 Asian Cup and the 2034 World Cup, the Saudi authorities have devised a plan to partially demolish and rebuild the existing King Fahd Stadium site, while preserving the original architectural design. Jinggong Steel International will meticulously retain the original stand structure and simultaneously carry out a “surgical” transformation of the mast-type cable-stayed steel structure roof reconstruction. This approach is designed to safeguard the collective memory of the Saudi people, while infusing the stadium with modern FIFA’s standard. The project is scheduled to commence the steel structure hoisting in August this year, with an anticipated completion of the overall cable-membrane structure construction within 10 months.
