Saudi buyers are accelerating purchases of Chinese steel billet ahead of expected price movements toward USD 465 per ton, driven by strong demand in Riyadh and Dammam.
Over the past week, two shipments of 150-mm square billet from China—each weighing 50,000 tons with a minimum manganese content of 0.6%—were booked at USD 475 per ton delivered to Saudi west coast ports.
Prices later eased slightly to USD 473 per ton for April shipments, with buyers targeting a range of USD 470–472 per ton.
The active Chinese supply and competitive pricing reflect the deepening Saudi-Chinese trade in steel and infrastructure materials, supporting the Kingdom’s expanding construction and industrial sectors.
