Saudi Arabian mobile operator Zain KSA signed an MoU with Huawei Technologies on October 13 to cooperate on green energy solutions for 5G networks. Under the MoU, Zain KSA will work with Huawei to deploy “energy-efficient hardware such as MetaAAUs and ultra-wideband RRUs on a large scale.” Huawei says that technologies such as extremely large antenna arrays, ultra-wideband power amplifiers, and RF algorithms will greatly improve network energy efficiency.
