Chinese lithium salts producer, Yahoo Group, said it will invest up to 145 million U.S. dollars to acquire a 70% stake in the two Hong Kong units of China Africa Industrial, which owns four lithium mines in Namibia. Yahoo aims to raise the self-sufficiency rate of lithium resources to more than 50% by 2025. Earlier in October, Yahoo withdrew from plans to invest in Canada’s Ultra Lithium after notifying Canadian authorities of the divestment of its assets in critical metals companies.
