The Ministry of Commerce stated that the decision to approve the “rules for regulating liberal professions”, issued recently, aims to lay the foundations for these professions to encourage their activities in the Kingdom and enhance their effectiveness to overcome the obstacles they face, thus increasing the private sector’s contribution to trade to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, had issued a decree regarding the rules regulating free professions, which included the conditions of the license applicant, the classification of licensees, a list of free professions, and a table of points and categories for professional licenses.
The ministry indicated, through its official account on the Twitter site, that the decision will enable the approval of specializations according to development needs and job opportunities, raise the efficiency of all consulting offices for free professions, raise the productive status of the professional sector, improve the efficiency of the work environment, and improve work policies in accordance with the practices regulating professions In addition to contributing to the empowerment and development of human capital, attracting competencies in the labor market, increasing the effectiveness and competitiveness of the labor market and raising its attractiveness.
She added that the most prominent features of the decision are the adoption of specific criteria for the recognition of professional fields, and the establishment of standard procedures based on scientific qualification and practical experience to issue a professional license.
