Abdullah bin Abiyah, the consul general of Saudi Arabia in Guangzhou, said that China’s Greater Bay Area development zone will be “the future of Asia”. The geographical location of the Greater Bay Area and its economic contributions to China, coupled with Beijing’s goal of turning it into “the world’s technology centre”, make the region a go-to destination for foreign investors, according to Abdullah bin Abiyah. The diplomat said that the Saudi Arabian consulate in Guangzhou has reached out to Guangdong government and both sides are discussing possible projects. Abiyah estimated that the cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia will focus on tech and traditional sectors as well.
