The Saudi Accreditation Center has achieved a national achievement by obtaining international recognition from the International Laboratory Accreditation Organization (ILAC) through the Arab Accreditation Authority, in the areas of accreditation of testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, and inspection bodies.
This recognition is supported by the Kingdom’s signing of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements that require international recognition of national quality infrastructure services.
This international recognition means that the conformity certificates issued by conformity assessment bodies accredited by the Saudi Accreditation Center have become internationally recognized, which will have a significant impact on the economic level by raising the level of trade exchange, and the flow of goods and products to and from global markets.
His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Center’s Board of Directors, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, stressed that the center’s obtaining international recognition is an important national achievement to support quality infrastructure in the Kingdom and enhance the center’s position regionally and internationally.
Appreciating the unlimited support that the quality system in the Kingdom received from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel Al-Qaid, indicated that international recognition will support the flow of goods and products to and from global markets, raise the level of trade exchange, and support exports of Saudi products by providing reliable and recognized accreditation services locally and internationally to achieve the Kingdom’s ambitious vision 2030, and to enhance the Kingdom’s position in Group of Twenty countries.
This international achievement is the culmination of the efforts of the Center during the peer assessment process carried out by a team of international assessors, which lasted for a year, and which dealt with verifying the compliance of all international requirements for accreditation bodies in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17011, as well as the adequacy and effectiveness of legal and legislative systems, management systems and the adequacy of residents And the quality of the services of conformity assessment bodies approved by the center.
It is worth noting that the Saudi Accreditation Center is the only national authority authorized to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies in the field of testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification bodies.
