Saudi Arabia is planning a second lithium processing facility to produce refined lithium hydroxide for BMW. Australia-listed lithium start-up European Lithium and Saud Industrial conglomerate Obeikan Investment Group will each take a 50% stake in the plant. This is a sign of the lithium supply chain’s move away from China as the EU and the US try to create more capacity in global processing.
