Foreign Investment Licenses in Saudi Arabia Increased by 108% in the First Half of 2021

The Saudi Ministry of Investment announced that the number of foreign investment licenses had doubled during the first half of this year 2021, compared to the first half of last year.
The total licenses issued at the end of last June reached 1,054 facilities, compared to 509 facilities for the same period last year, an increase of 108%.
The ministry stated that joint investment licenses between Saudi and foreign investors rose during the first half of this year to 45%, compared to 27% of the total licenses for the first half of 2020.

While the share of foreign shareholders in full amounted to 55% of the total licenses in the first half of 2021.
The ministry revealed that the second quarter of this year recorded a remarkable improvement of 21%, compared to the first quarter, in terms of the total number of licenses issued, where the retail sector ranked first in the number of licenses with 24%, and the industrial sector came in second place 20%.
