In an interview with Chen Jiatao, one of the first Chinese entrepreneurs in the Saudi market, Chen shared his insights into the market. Chen pointed out that the market in the Middle East is mainly concentrated in the capital of each country, and there is currently no room for growth in second or third-tier cities such as China. Looking at India and Indonesia, where a large number of Chinese companies have expanded but ultimately failed due to rapid market saturation, he said that although all Chinese companies are rushing to the Middle East, deep localization is essential for long-term success. In Southeast Asia, he gave examples of Shopee, J&T Express, and Moonton as really successful overseas businesses.
