China is promoting trade in services in its efforts to open up

BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) — Despite the complex and harsh external environment, China’s service trade has maintained rapid growth and resilience, becoming a milestone in the endeavor of high-level opening-up.

The total value of China’s services trade jumped 12.9 percent year on year to nearly 6 trillion yuan (about 833.5 billion US dollars) in 2022, to hold the second rank globally for nine consecutive years.

The exhibition will be held in the Chinese capital, Beijing, from September 2 to 6, under the title “Openness Leads Development, Cooperation Creates a Win-Win Future,” where the exhibition activities will be held at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Complex, on an exhibition area of 155,000 square meters.

“China will make efforts to improve the fair’s functions, striving to make it the most influential service trade fair in the world, injecting new impetus into the global economy,” Chen said.
