Chinese battery maker CATL, the world’s largest maker of electric vehicle batteries, has accelerated its overseas expansion in 2022, and will continue to go global in 2023. CATL just announced in late December that it had achieved mass production of lithium-ion battery cells as scheduled at its factory in the German state of Thuringia.
