An increase in the volume of e-commerce for the parent company of the “Tik Tok” application in 2022 AD

ByteDance has made progress in the field of e-commerce. Last year, consumers in China spent 1.41 trillion yuan, or 208 billion US dollars, in purchases on TikTok, an increase of 76% from 2021. Meanwhile, shoppers on TikTok in Southeast Asia more than quadrupled their spending, a metric known as gross merchandise volume, to a value of $4.4 billion. ByteDance has discussed internally plans to ramp up its e-commerce efforts this year in more countries, including the United States, Brazil, Spain and Australia.
